Welcome to Year 4 at Marie Weller Primary School

Year 4 is certainly a year of progress. It is a crucial stage in your child's educational journey. This year is designed to nurture both personal and academic growth, ensuring a smooth transition from Lower Key Stage 2 into Year 5.

A Year of Confidence and Independence

In Year 4, our pupils are encouraged to take on more responsibility and develop greater independence in their learning and daily routines. We have an exciting and broad curriculum which is crafted to broaden their knowledge and enhance their skills across a variety of subjects, of course with a strong focus on strengthening their abilities in English and Maths - with a strong emphasis on times tables to prepare them for the statutory multiplication check at the end of the year.

Throughout the year, students will:

• Sharpen their critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Improve their communication abilities
• Build confidence and independence through a range of projects and interactive activities

Focusing on Discovery, Growth and Memories

They will also have opportunities to join varied extracurricular clubs, participate in inspiring educational trips, and take on roles that foster leadership and teamwork, all contributing to a well-rounded educational experience.
