Covid-19 Update

As you will be aware, the government announced this week that all Covid Plan B restrictions will be removed in England by Thursday 27th January. This week, the government removed the need for face masks in schools, and therefore, you are no longer required to wear one at drop-off and collection. I would like to take this opportunity to remind you that the self-isolation regulations are still in place. This means that if your child tests positive for Covid, they are required to isolate for 5 full days if they have 2 negative Lateral Flow Device tests (LFD) taken on consecutive days. The first LFD test should not be taken before the fifth day after your symptoms started (or the day your test was taken if you did not have symptoms).

The self-isolation period remains 10 full days for those without negative results from 2 LFD tests taken a day apart. More information regarding ‘Stay at Home Guidance’ can be found here: Stay at home: guidance for households with possible or confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) infection – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk). Please follow public health advice on when to self-isolate and what to do. Your child should not come into school if they have symptoms, have had a positive test result or other reasons requiring them to stay at home due to the risk of them passing on COVID-19.

As rules relax, we must not forget that Covid is still with us and in circulation. Therefore, to protect us, we may ask you to carry out an LFD test when attending a meeting with a member of staff or an event where large numbers may be present. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions regarding the above. Thank you for your continued support.
